The material, up close

A story,
raised in leather.

I have always been drawn to objects that seem to hold a story: the worn cover of an old book, an intricate pattern, the feeling that something ordinary might contain something extraordinary. Pandemonium Artifacts is my way of bringing that feeling into the world.

Books are at the heart of my work. I reimagine familiar volumes as artifacts inspired by the worlds within their pages, giving their exteriors a sense of the adventure, mystery and wonder waiting inside. I want each piece to invite a closer look, feel at home on a reader’s shelf and be a pleasure to pick up.

At Pandemonium, we are scholars of the texts we bind. We study their themes, symbols and the forces that shape their worlds, then ask how those ideas might take physical form. A creature, a border or a weathered finish should carry something of the story’s wonder, darkness or raw power.

My approach brings that close reading to the workbench: considering a design, testing an idea and refining the details until the binding feels true to the world within.

To me, an artificer is someone who gives imagination a physical form. That is the spirit behind Pandemonium Artifacts: making things that feel as though they have a story of their own.
